Job title: Head Counselor (Age 21+)
When: June-August 2025
Locations: Richmond, Charlottesville
Description:
Love the outdoors and working with kids? We have the job for you! Virginia Outside is hiring for a Counselor position for our Summer Outdoor Youth Programs. Applicant must be comfortable working outside, work well in groups as well as be responsible, adaptive, and outgoing. Flexible hours, competitive pay, and a fun work environment! Spend time outside teaching kids the basics of fishing, biking, hiking, kayaking/canoeing, rock climbing, and other fun outdoor activities! It is a great opportunity to network with the outdoor community in our area.
Our Day Camps operate June – August. Counselors generally work Mon-Fri, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM with frequent weekend work opportunity as well. This may include: shuttling vans or gear trailers.

Job title: Counselor In Training (CIT) – Age 15
When: June-August 2025
Locations: Richmond, Charlottesville
Description:
Our Counselor In Training (CIT) program is designed to help teenagers interested in taking the step up from camper to camp Counselor! This is a great opportunity to gain leadership skills and an introduction to working as a camp Counselor without a full summer commitment.
Our day camps operate June to August. Counselors generally work Monday – Friday, Ranging 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
