Charlottesville 6-9 Fishing

Is there anything better than the smile on a kids face after they have just caught a fish? We don't think so.
____________
This one-week fishing camp is designed to spark the interest in fishing and teach basic fishing tactics as well as get our younger campers outdoors and having fun. We fish a combination of public and private ponds and reservoirs, and will often find a hour to splash around in a local river in search of crayfish, frogs, and salamanders. Safety is our number one priority, so all campers will wear life jackets when in the water or on a boat. We maintain a 1-to-5 counselor-to-camper ratio to ensure every camper gets some one on one time each day to advance his or her skills. Virginia Outside provides all bait and tackle, rods and reels, and life jackets.

No experience necessary.

What to Bring and Wear to Fishing Camp

Fishing Equipment

Virginia Fishing Adventures will provide all fishing rods/tackle/ bait, etc. However, we certainly encourage those campers with their own rods/reels and tackle to bring them along.

What Should Campers Wear?

1. shorts, bathing suit

2. t-shirt (preferably one you won’t mind having a little fish slime on)

3. sandals with straps, river shoes (like Keens) or old tennis shoes. (Crocs and flip flops are not a good choice as they fall off in the water)

4. Sunglasses (preferably polarized)

What Should Campers Bring With Them?

1. A Bag lunch

2. rain jacket

3. a change of clothes

4. towel

We will have plenty of sunscreen, but we do recommend campers put on sunscreen at home before they are dropped off (30 or higher is recommended as we will be in the sun all day). We will re-apply sunscreen after lunch.

* We will fish rain or shine as long as conditions remain safe.

NOTICE: Please do not send your child to camp with expensive electronic equipment such as i-phones, i-pods, or video games unless you are sure they can handle the responsibility. These things break when they get wet, and we get wet every day. We will not be responsible for any electronics that are lost or broken.

Refund Policy

All deposits for camps and any programs or trips are non-refundable.
We understand that things happen and we do make exceptions in cases of physical injury that will not allow a camper to attend camp. When working with other programs, we adhere to their refund policies.

Please contact us directly if you need to withdraw from any camp, program, or trip.
