Pumphouse Park to South of the James Farmers Market

If you are looking for a fun hike in Richmond on a Saturday morning try parking at Pumphouse Park and hiking over to the South of the James Farmers Market in Forest Hill Park

A great way to do this is to have two cars. Drop one at Forest Hill Park First then drive back across the Nickel Bridge to the Pumphouse Parking lot.

You will start down the trail and walk behind Maymont and along the canal. The trail will take you up into a neighborhood. Follow signs for the North Bank Trail. You will pop up behind Hollywood Cemetery. Cross over to Belle Isle and follow the trail to the Reedy Creek Parking lot. Cross the street to the left and follow the path up into Forest Hill Park and right to the Farmers Market where you have all sorts of great lunch options. The market is typically open from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. on Saturdays.

The hike is about 4 miles and can take a few hours depending on the speed of your group.

I hiked it last weekend with my 11 and 12 year olds and my mother who is in her 70's.
